RaceSmart: Racing Rules Training with John O'Dwyer

Mark your calendars for April 13th, from 1 pm to 6:00 pm, when Dr. John O'Dwyer, Sail Canada Regional Race Officer and Judge, Past LYRA Past President, and last year's LYRA Cobourg PRO, will be visiting Cobourg for an insightful session on racing rules in preparation for the upcoming season. John will be reviewing the World Sailing Racing Rules edition 2021-2024.

This session will be three Sessions 90-minute sessions covering Part 2 of the Racing Rules of Sailing:

1. Section A: RIGHT OF WAY - RuIes 10 - 13

2. Section B: GENERAL LIMITATIONS - RuIes 14 - 17

3. Section C: AT MARKS & OBSTRUCTIONS: Rules 18 - 20

The program will encompass a comprehensive review of the fundamental racing rules, as well as an examination of the rules that are particularly crucial for boats aiming to race at a higher competitive level.

This event is open to skippers, crew, and committee boat crews, offering a fantastic opportunity to understand our sport better and prepare for the approaching season. 

The bar will be open at 2:30 pm for the first break, and there will be food, so don’t miss out on this chance to enhance your racing knowledge and skills!
