Cobourg is just inside the range of Ontario towns that will be able to witness the total eclipse. The time the Moon takes to briefly cover the Sun and then pass by the Sun is approximately 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. A timetable is in the link below. At 3:21 PM the Moon will totally cover the Sun for just one minute and 26 seconds. That is the period of totality.

The Sun on April 8th at 2:00 will be about 45 degrees above the horizon in the southwest. The Sun should easily clear that tree off the west end of the Club’s balcony. CYC will be open so that people may view the eclipse. We will limit the number of people on the deck to 45 so that we are not overcrowded. However, people are welcome to enjoy some time at the club that day as well. The bar will be open!
